Our Experience:
Bangkok, also known as the "City of Angels", is a city that truly exceeded our expectations. As budget travellers, we were looking for an affordable and exciting destination, and Bangkok delivered on both fronts.
Our journey started with finding the perfect place to stay. We chose to stay at Sleep Withinn hotel, located right next to the famous Khaosan road. This area is known for its lively atmosphere and budget-friendly accommodation, and it was the perfect spot for us. The hotel was comfortable and affordable, and we loved being in the heart of the action.
One of the highlights of our trip was trying the local cuisine. Bangkok is a paradise for food lovers, and we indulged in all kinds of delicious street food. The must-try dish for us was Pad Thai, a traditional Thai dish made with stir-fried rice noodles, vegetables, and our choice of protein. It was absolutely delicious, and we had it multiple times during our stay.
We also experienced Bangkok's famous nightlife. One of the most unique experiences we had was buying a balloon filled with laughing gas for just 250 baht (about £6) and a bucket of vodka to go along with it. It was a fun and unforgettable experience, but it is important to keep in mind the safety precautions and possible side effects. We also had a nice Thai back massage, which was perfect after a long day of walking around.
Another must-visit attraction in Bangkok is the King Power skywalk. We took a trip to the glass-bottom observation deck located on the 84th floor of the King Power MahaNakhon building. The views were stunning, and it was a great spot to take in the skyline and take some great content.
We also found Bangkok to have a well-developed public transportation system. The most popular mode of transportation is the Skytrain (BTS) and the Subway (MRT) which are both fast, efficient, and affordable. Additionally, the city also has a wide network of taxis and Tuk-tuks (auto rickshaws) that are readily available.
In conclusion, our trip to Bangkok was an incredible experience that exceeded our expectations. The city is a perfect blend of history, culture, and modernity. We would highly recommend Bangkok as a budget-friendly destination for travellers looking for a fun and exciting adventure.
